Prepare your Unlimited Plug account and connect your first server request.
What you need
- An Unlimited Plug account.
- An active rentable project and its project slug.
- Enough credits to pay for the rentals you create.
- A backend server where you can safely store a secret API key.
Your first steps
1. Create an API key
Sign in to Unlimited Plug, open the API key section, create a key, and copy it when it is shown.
2. Save it on your server
Save the key as a server environment variable, for example UNLIMITEDPLUG_API_KEY. Do not save it in frontend code.
3. Connect your checkout
When a customer completes your checkout, your server sends the rental request to Unlimited Plug.
Important
Your API key gives access to actions paid for by the connected account. Treat it like a password and use HTTPS for every request.
